Marina Markovic

Helping companies achieve their vision and purpose through developing their culture, engaging their people and creating best fit people initiatives is what excites me about being in the field of Human Resources.

I’ve performed a variety of leadership roles and I founded People Matters after 19 years in HR across a wide range of industries. These include media, music, entertainment, digital, government, banking & finance, IT and professional sport.

My HR experience across these different industries has provided me a strong foundation of skills. Every day you will find me working with all types of leaders and managers to engage people, build capability and achieve performance outcomes through:

  • shaping, developing and changing organisational culture

  • identifying, managing, developing and retaining top talent

  • improving the employee experience and creating meaningful employee value propositions

  • attracting the best talent to the organisation

  • managing day-to-day HR functions – recruitment, terminations, remuneration, benefits, performance, policies, compliance and ER

I help individuals reach their full potential through my coaching programs. I am a firm believer that challenges help us to grow and if we always live in our comfort zone we drift and stagnate. It can be scary to put yourself in new situations and face uncertainty but the results are worth it.

My style is practical, relatable and insightful. I am structured without being bureaucratic and personable without being weak. I also pride myself in speaking in plain English.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts - Majoring in Psychology from the University of Sydney. I am also an accredited coach in the Human Synergistics Life Styles Inventory (LSI) and Group Styles Inventory (GSI) tools.
